ArcThumb, published by citrussoda-com and currently at version 0.11.0 across eight released versions, is a Windows Shell Extension that enriches Windows Explorer with thumbnail icons and preview-pane previews for archive files and ebooks. Its purpose is to give users an immediate visual indication of a file's contents without opening it: when a supported container contains images, ArcThumb decodes the first image and displays it as the file's thumbnail, while the preview pane renders a larger version of the same image. This makes the software particularly useful for managing collections of comic book archives, downloaded ebooks, and compressed image sets directly from the file system. Supported containers include ZIP, 7Z, RAR, and TAR along with their media-oriented variants CBZ, CB7, CBR, and CBT, as well as ebooks in EPUB, FB2, MOBI, AZW, and AZW3 formats.
