Cursdar2 is a CUDA-native NEXRAD workstation developed and published by Fahrenheit Research, currently available in version 0.5.1, which is the only release listed to date. The software is designed for working with weather radar data, placing it in the meteorological and scientific visualization category, and it targets operators who need fast, GPU-accelerated radar analysis rather than conventional CPU-bound processing. Its central purpose is the rapid ingest of live Level 2 NEXRAD data, combined with responsive two-dimensional and three-dimensional radar rendering, so that reflectivity and other radar products can be examined interactively as conditions evolve. Core capabilities include live Level 2 ingest, national radar mosaics for broad situational awareness, three-dimensional volume rendering for examining storm structure, archive playback for reviewing past events, warning overlays that place alert information directly in the radar display, and color-table support that allows radar products to be styled according to operator preference or convention. These features support several use cases: real-time monitoring of severe weather as it unfolds, retrospective analysis of archived radar cases, and warning-overlay analysis in which issued alerts are evaluated against the underlying radar data. Cursdar2 is being built as a standalone successor to the earlier cursdar application, retaining the same GPU-first design mentality while offering a much cleaner operator workflow. Because it is maintained in a repository that can evolve independently of its predecessor, the project is positioned to develop on its own trajectory rather than remaining tied to the original codebase. With only a single published version so far, Cursdar2 represents an early-stage release of the workstation, with version 0.5.1 establishing the foundation for live ingest, rendering, mosaic generation, archive review, and overlay-based analysis in a single CUDA-accelerated package.
